How does trend forecasting work?

We are currently able to forecast the behaviour of trends up to 24 months ahead, with the following methodology:

1. We are able to retrieve 8 years of historical data for each trend with all associated posts, as well as other relevant extra signals.

2. We apply 5 different statistical models and our proprietary deep learning model to make predictions on how this trend should behave in the next year.

3. We arbitrate between algorithms and combine predictions into a master algorithm to obtain the best prediction (Fforma ensembling).
