How are the "high season" and "optimal launch" detected?
High season and optimal launch help you time your collection. They tell you when a trend is most relevant during the year, and the best month to have it in store.
High season
High season is the time of year when a trend's visibility is at its highest. It's shown as a quarter, for example Apr-Jun.
Several high seasons → a trend can peak more than once a year, for example in spring and again in winter
No high season → we only show high seasons for trends with a clear seasonal pattern. A trend that stays visible at the same level all year round has none.
To find it, we separate the trend's seasonal pattern from its overall evolution. Then we keep the quarters where seasonality boosts its visibility.
Optimal launch
Within each high season, the optimal launch is the month when the trend is most visible, which makes it the ideal moment to have it in store. For example, a trend with an Apr-Jun high season could have its optimal launch in May.
One optimal launch per high season → a trend with two high seasons has two optimal launches
No high season → no optimal launch
